AAM 1st Grade - Bowral 1 Yerrinbool 8 - Bowral's 1st grade team unfortunately did not get off to a good start for 2011, with a comprehensive defeat by Yerrinbool, 8-1.
Whilst the score was not flattering, it did not correctly reflect the game as a whole. Bowral comfortably held Yerrinbool to a 1-1 draw 2 weeks ago in the Cup, and this result was a travesty.
Bowral showed some very bright spells, Sam Malcolm was outstanding at right back.
Bowral are looking forward to the return of new midfielders Larry Mullan and Hassan Al-Shadidi for the first game back after the Easter break. Warwick Turpin
Players Player Awards - Sam Malcolm 3, Tony White 2, Sam Priebee 1.
AAM 2nd Grade - Bowral 1 Yerrinbool 3 - The first game of the season got underway on the weekend with less than favourable weather conditions to contend with. Not only were we faced with the challenge of the cold, strong, blustery winds, but also last minute team changes due to injury amongst the 1st and 2nds squads.
Bowral were a bit slow out of the gates, and soon found themselves behind to an early goal to Yerrinbool.
Things could have been worse if were not for some skilled goal keeping from Chris Rodgers, who volunteered himself into the position at the last minute. Mid way through the first half the team began to find a much needed chemistry and moved the ball around, making good chances on goal. Unfortunately we then lost our striker, Mat Austin to injury. Coach Joe Goodfellow made some inspired changes and the cohesiveness the team had begun to show was not lost.
Yerrinbool was two up when some beautiful team passing resulted in Bowral scoring a goal. Alan Gould set up David Winn who held of their defender to chip over the oncoming keeper; despite getting a hand on it, he was unable to keep the shot out.
Bowral were pressing and pushing hard for the equalizer goal. In the last few minutes we were caught on the counter-attack, with Yerrinbool getting their third goal of the match and at the final whistle the score was Yerrinbool 3, Bowral 1. Chris' great display in goals earned him peer voted man of the match.

Under 6A's - For the second week in a row, the U6A's made out like Bandicoots against an over matched Yerrinbool team, scoring at least a dozen goals and conceding only one. Future star Harvey Turpin bagged a triple hattrick, ably assisted by his teammates including Larry Doyle who was named Player of the Match. An outstanding performance in defence was highlighted by three boys at one stage vying to be the goalie whilst the play was at the other end of the pitch! Olivia Walker enjoyed her first run of the season and will make a fine addition to a team now looking for some stiff opposition - Simon O'Donnell
Under 7H's - The U7Hs recorded their second win from 2 outings yesterday with a fine
performance away against the Bundy Rebels. The boys performed really well as a team and scored some great goals, a number coming from Jack McCallum who deservedly won the Player of the Match. The boys had a great time on a warm autumn morning and are looking forward
to their next game after Easter - Warwick Turpin
Under 8B's - A great day for football today, unfortunately for the u8b's as Autumn takes grip in the Southern Highlands the trees weren't the only thing changing colours as a hard running Robertson outfit took the game by the scruff of the neck. It was the home team who were blue as the boys from the top of the escarpment turned Stephens Park maroon this morning. Nicolas McColl had his debut in goals (a little reluctantly) in the first half and could do nothing with the two goals that were scored at close range by L Hinchcliffe, the Robertson number 7. Hinchcliffe could have been on the score sheet on a few more occasions however strong tackling from Sam DeHaan, Orlando Maule and Kieran Osborne saw Bowral go into the interval with everything to play for in the second half. The stand out player in the first half was Christian Giuliano who had a great run down the right hand side before unleashing what seemed to be an unstoppable right foot shot from the edge of the box; the Robertson goalkeeper miraculously managed to get his finger tips on to the ball to push it on to the bar; not content with his stop he then ran the length of the pitch, Jose Rene Higuito style and only a fine tackle from Sam Pedroza stopped him shooting at goal. Sam Watson ran hard all half and only last minute tackles from the hardworking visitors stopped him from having a shot on target. The second half started better for Bowral and the boys were unlucky not to get some reward from their efforts, some good dribbling from John Jamieson opened up the Robertson midfield and created a few good chances for the team. Nicolas McColl now replaced in goals by Sam Watson broke through on the right hand side only to see his shot pushed around the post by the new Robertson goalkeeper. Colin Wilson and Orlando Maule replaced some tiring Bowral players in the second half and despite adding some strength in the midfield, Orlando and the Birthday Boy had no goals to celebrate. Another brace from Hinchcliffe early in the second half put the game beyond reach. The u8b's have the Easter break ahead of them and should be well rested for the season ahead. Match result Bowral 0 Robertson 4 - David Jamieson
Under 10A's - From the first whistle, Bowral U10A were in full control of the game against
Moss Vale. With no subs on the day, the game was a real test of stamina, and Moss Vale, with one player short, couldn't match Bowral's relentless running game. Newcomers to the team Finlay, Ella and Zac U all had great games, including shots at goal by Ella. Goalkeeper Zac U saved a few goals, giving us a clean slate. Team veterans Connor and Ben, along with Finlay, combined in an impressive display of team work, to put on an unstoppable spray of goals. It was great to watch midfielders Georgie, Zac W, Charlie, Dylan and Nick tenaciously working at passing the ball through their defence to enable the final result of 11-0. Player of the Week Award went to Finlay White who scored four goals - Eva Canute
