AAM 3rd Grade - Bowral 2 : Mittagong 0

The 3rds had a strong squad of 18 to select a team for the clash against arch rivals Mittagong on Saturday 30th April. We came out strong in the first half and had more possession, although Mittagong had a couple of chances in the first half our defence was again very consistent in doing the simple things and kept them at bay. We played the ball around nicely on the attack and Jeff Cusack slotted one home after 20mins to make it 1-0. We had more chances on goal in the first half but the half time score remained 1-0. The 3rds gave all 16 squad members a good run making a number of changes in the second half. Mittagong pilled on a bit of pressure in the opening 15 minutes but again failed to equalize and even missed a penalty. Stronger in the attack Bowral made it 2-0 with 20 minutes to go when Michael Poulos beat the keeper following a Bowral corner. The game was played hard but in good spirit and this was a well deserved win. The 3rds are yet to concede a goal!
